How to Use

How to use the course

There are three sections as part of the course. This top section contains the FAQ and some printables. The second section contains 10 weekly lessons. The last section is an Appendix with additional (optional) resources. As you work on the course, it automatically keeps track of where you are. When finished with a lesson, click "Complete and Continue" to move on. You can always come back to past lessons, though.

What resources are needed to complete the course?

You need to purchase 2 books: How to Teach Your Children Shakespeare by Ken Ludwig and William Shakespeare's Star Wars by Ian Doescher. Other optional resources are listed on the Resources page in the Appendix. Everything else is free and can be found on various websites.

What prep work should be done before beginning the course?

All that is needed is to print some pages from howtoteachyourchildrenshakespeare.com and a few other websites. Read through the weekly lessons to find the links. After "cuts" are decided for the Star Wars script, you'll print that for the students. If you are completing the course for credit, print a Log Sheet and several "Shakespeare's Plays" notebooking pages.

What do I do if a link is broken or a video is no longer available?

Simply leave a comment right there at the lesson or email Gena at [email protected], and I'll get it fixed ASAP! Thank you for your help and for taking the extra time to let me know about them.

What to do if you are seeing inappropriate ads with the YouTube videos

We are thankful for the "free" resource of YouTube, but we do occasionally have to let their ads run. If you are noticing that you are seeing some inappropriate ads, see this link which will give you ways to block advertisers. You might also need to clear your cookies/history. And be sure YouTube is set to restricted mode.
