Violin Day 4

Violin Day 4:

The violin is a prominent instrument in many cultures, perhaps because of how easily portable it is. Today we are going to have fun listening to energetic and soulful Celtic music featuring the violin. Celtic music comes from western Europe, particularly Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Brittany, Spain, Portugal, and more. Celtic traditions traveled with people as they migrated to places like the Atlantic side of Canada (Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, Cape Breton) and more. You may notice that this style seems related both to the Romani and country styles we've heard earlier this week. I love the cheerful pep and I think your kids will, too.
