Learn Classical Music with Cartoons
Learn all about classical music and composers the fun way -- by watching cartoons!
Learn Classical Music with Cartoons
is one of the most fun and accessible music appreciation courses ever written for Music in Our Homeschool!
Do you or your children dislike classical music?
Do you wish you would do Composer Study in your homeschool, but haven't found a fun or engaging way to do it?
Then, keep reading because I have the answer to both of these problems!
A joint effort by music teachers (and homeschool moms) Kathy Gossen and Gena Mayo, you'll find 37 separate composer studies with music to listen to-- by cartoon!
The cartoons range from the very vintage (1931!) to the very modern (Line Riders and other computer-generated graphics).
Every lesson also contains an optional movement activity to get the kids off the couch and moving their bodies to the music.
Printables such as the Study-a-Composer printable pack and Dynamics flashcards are also included if you'd like something hands-on to do as well.
And, you even get a 2-question online quiz for each lesson!

All 37 composers and featured pieces are listed below under "Course Curriculum."

Your Instructor
Kathy is the the wife of a farmer’s son, a homeschooling mom to three girly wiggly worms, and an Okie inside and out. Between cooking for a few picky eaters, picking up stray toys, and teaching multiplication facts, she enjoys organizing closets, writing curriculum, and playing games with her family.
Additional Instruction by Gena Mayo:
Gena Mayo is a homeschooling mom of 8 who has been teaching music in various forms for over 25 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters degree in Vocal Pedagogy (teaching voice lessons). It has been her joy to teach elementary and junior high choir, high school voice classes, private voice lessons for teens through adults, early childhood music and movement classes (babies through preschool), elementary general music, and music appreciation for elementary through high school. But, her favorite music teaching experience has been as musical director for stage musicals such as Seussical, Shrek, Singing in the Rain, Newsies, and Beauty and the Beast. It is Gena's desire to help all homeschoolers include music in their homeschools!
