How to Use
How to use:
Welcome to the Composer Study with 10 Lesser Known Composers online course!
There are 10 separate composers.
The composers are:
- Georg Telemann
- Maria Theresa Paradis
- Charles Gounod
- Bedřich Smetana
- Alexander Borodin
- Edward Elgar
- Isaac Albéniz
- Amy Beach
- Alexander Scriabin
- Ottorino Respighi
Each composer has four videos of music (and one downloadable mp3 version) of music to listen to. The purpose of this intensive focus on one composer is to "let young people study as far as possible under one master until they have received some of this teaching and know its style." (from Charlotte Mason)
As you work on the course, it automatically keeps track of where you are. When finished with a lesson, click "Complete and Continue" to move on. You can always come back to past lessons, though.
There are printable notebooking pages included that are optional to use while listening to and/or studying a composer.
Finally, since every family is different in what you deem appropriate for your kids to watch or read, you may want to preview all videos and websites ahead of time.
Use of Royalty Free/Creative Commons Music
The downloadable mp3 files for each composer are from MusOpen, a website that provides Royalty Free and Creative Commons music. Please see here for more details.
